Long-distance move from San Ramon, CA to Princeton Junction, NJ

Dangerous group

They delivered for us as contractors for my iriginal carrier. They started playing all sorts of games. Not providing the certificate of insurance, and giving us many flimsy reasons on why they cannot bring the semi here. Finally when he delivered the driver Simbala Gassama(Calling himself Mike and Sega) came drunk, started shouting, snatched my phone and tried to hit me. I had to call the police to settle things. After that they were not much of a problem but they had lost a large chest, a cabinet, printer and benches. Also most items were scratched, torn and dirtied

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Michigan

Horrendous Experience with Sega.

BEWARE: AVOID SEGA TRANSPORT AT ALL COSTS! They damaged many of my furniture (and completely shattered several items) and charged significantly more than estimated (while my inventory was less). The also broke my front door of the home I moved from and dented the door of my new home. Many of the boxes arrived crushed or ripped.

They also do not respond to email (Sega's emails will bounce back) and not take calls. Sega also left behind a bedframe which they refused to pick up / ship to my new home. I can also vouch for many of the negative reviews below as I experienced the same as well (e.g. coordinating with "Mike" and "Donovan" who ends up ignoring your calls). Zero stars. Sample photos attached.

Long-distance move from Connecticut to Georgia

Horrible Experience (6/2017 move).

I would have given NO stars if possible!

There are several reasons for why we were very dissatisfied with the services provided by Sega Transportation, please see below:

- They were very unorganized and had no clear process for keeping an accurate account of inventory picked up or delivered.
- They displayed no true regard for handling of items (many of the boxes labeled "fragile" arrived crushed).
- They were not properly equipped with shoe coverings, and when asked if they could remove their dirty shoes before going upstairs on the brand new carpet, they told me "no", so my 15 year old was left at the landing of the stairs, did their job and grabbed the boxes they handed to him and placed in a common area.
- I had to ask them to be careful not to scrape the walls with the boxes, as one of the movers was trying to force a box which was positioned long way on the dolly thru an archway.
- Shattered my 50" Samsung Smart tv.
- Chipped the accent chair leg in three separate areas.
- Broke my 14k ladle belonging to a punch bowl set, which was a family heirloom passed onto me by my grandmother; this is irreplaceable.
- Contacted Sega the day my delivery was made in GA to immediately initiate a claim for my damaged goods, only to be told by Amy that she did not have my paperwork and that I would need to call back in two weeks, as by then the driver would be back from making a delivery in TX.
- Left four (4) voicemails to inform Sega that my electronics bin was also missing, with no return phone call. Called again yesterday and was told, "didn't you call here already and I told you, you have to wait for the driver to return"? I explained yes, but that was to initiate a claim on damaged items not missing ones.
- Amy advised that she could not promise to return my call once the driver returned, and if she didn't, I should call them.

I am a military brat, therefore accustomed to moving, but I must say this has been the worst move I've experienced! The movers clearly lacked professional training and know how (probably no fault of theirs, but definitely the company's), and didn't seem to think highly or have much regard for our things.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to North Carolina

Horrible experience.

Movers came 5 hours later than originally promised. They told me that the inside stairs will have to be charged for and that the stop which was on my original contract was not on theirs. I confirmed previously that only outdoor steps count and I had a stop on my original contract!! Then, they said I had way more stuff then they though, which was all on the contract. Once they were done they harassed me for cash saying it's for the extra stairs and that is for the movers. I was literally in tears and they kept on harassing me for cash. I gave them all I had so they would leave me alone. My stuff came damaged and certain things were missing. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If I knew it was them, I would have denied it, but when you use companies like High Standards they outsource movers and you get stuck with a moving nightmare such as this!! Was told I would have my stuff at a certain time..came over a week late!!

Long-distance move from New York to Rhode Island

Awful All-Around.

I sent this email to Sega's customer service after my move and still haven't received a response. Awful all-around:

To Whom It May Concern,

I do not normally take the time to write to customer service for any company, but the moving service I was provided on July 11, 2016 was so appalling that I found it imperative that I share my experience with someone. I scheduled my move with Mike, a customer service who was very kind, but provided me with inaccurate information. Mike explained that because the company could not move me on my original move date of July 10 that they would guarantee same-day delivery of my belongings (from NYC to **). When my two movers (there were supposed to be three but one called out and was not replaced) arrived on July 11, I asked about the same-day delivery and was told there was no possibility that my things would be delivered the same day.

After the movers left to go get wrapping materials, I called customer service and was told Mike was unavailable. The person I spoke with, Rob, said Sega never guarantees same-day delivery so I must be mistaken. After Rob spoke with Mike directly, he explained to me that Mike had guaranteed the same-day delivery but had forgotten to note/document it, and proceeded to apologize to me for the inconvenience. Why I was told that Sega never guarantees same-day delivery , but then it was discovered that I was promised this seems like a huge inconsistency that needs to be addressed. Rob then said he was going to get back to me later in the day after checking what kind of refund/discount Sega could provide me since they were not fulfilling what had been guaranteed. After speaking with Rob later in the day, I was promised a $75-$150 refund for the amount due upon delivery of my things. Rob also told me the movers would deliver my things July 12 between 10am-12pm. Rob continued to apologize and stated he would call me on July 12 by 10am to let me know what the official, final discount would be. On July 12, I never received a call from Rob, despite calling and leaving a voicemail at 10:30am. My movers did not arrive until 1pm, an hour after the "guaranteed" window; and when the movers arrived, they were completely unaware of the discount Rob had told me to expect. Since the movers are not allowed to begin unloading until they have been paid, they proceeded to sit in the moving truck for an hour while I tried to contact Rob. Three different people told me Rob was unavailable to speak and that there was no way Sega could provide any discount to me. Defeated, I paid my movers so they would stop holding my belongings hostage and begin the unloading. Once again a Sega representative made promises, this time about a discount, and then I was told no Sega representative would make that promise.

The issues I experienced with customer service and the sales team were only half of what made this moving experience so terrible. When my movers first arrived in NYC, I was greeted by the head mover with "tip's not included in the price, don't forget." Neither mover introduced himself at any point. It took them FIVE HOURS to move my single bedroom within a 3-bedroom apartment out. One mover disappeared for an hour and a half, while the head mover wrapped and packed everything alone. At multiple points, I had to help hold pieces of furniture for him while he wrapped them. This mover then began to hit on me, slowing down the process even more since he was no longer focused on his job. These issues were additional factors that caused Rob to offer a discount on my move. Rob also apologized profusely for the movers' behavior and assured me that neither of these movers would be the ones delivering my belongings on the back end of my move the next day.

When my movers arrived the next day to deliver my items, I was astonished to see one of the same movers from the day before (the one who barely helped the day before), despite Rob's promise that different movers would be sent. The delivery of my items took about 3 hours, but various items were broken and a bookshelf destroyed (due to tape being placed directly on to the bookshelf and then ripped off haphazardly, removing the varnish). That same mover who I was told would not be delivering my belongings told me to make sure I tipped him and asked repeatedly if I would give him a beer throughout the move.

I have moved a lot in my lifetime, and have never experienced anything like this. From the sales team to the movers, every person I interacted with was unprofessional, uninformed, and unhelpful. There was zero communication between sales reps and between the sales team and the movers themselves. Sega is extremely unprofessional and did not deliver on any of the guaranteed details of my move. Everyone knows moving is a stressful time, and Sega only made this time nothing short of nightmare.

I would appreciate it if someone would reach out to me to explain why there was so much miscommunication and chaos throughout.

Long-distance move from Texas to New Mexico

House held hostage.

We selected Sega Transportation Inc. to do our big move from TX to NM because they claimed they could guarantee an overnight delivery. RUN AWAY as fast as you can and do not ever use them no matter what! It was the worse week in my life, and the most horrific experience I have ever endured. They promised to pick up and pack my house into a 26’ truck and drive immediately to NM and unload the next day. I only had to pay an extra $200. The day before they were to arrive they tried telling me it would cost more because their agent had made a mistake with the quote, and the contract I signed. I told them that wasn’t my problem and I had a signed agreement. When they arrived it wasn’t their company as they told me it would be, they had lied, and sent a different company two hours away from me to pack it all up. The driver said they were not going to go to NM, but to the warehouse two hours away. They said if anything breaks to call customer service, as if something always does, and to this day I still can’t get “customer service” to return my call or tell me how to get reimbursed. They continue to lie over and over.

They never showed up the next day, as I had paid the extra money to assure it. They didn’t return my calls, nor emails, nor reach out to me. I didn’t hear from them for five days. It was horrible. I called the police, and a lawyer. Finally someone from the company that picked up my belongings said they have a truck leaving in a day or two and it would be an 18 wheeler. I heard nothing for three more days. Then the original company told me they would only release my belongings to me was if I paid an additional $800. They had scammed me and abused me. It was horrifying. When they finally arrived, they came in a similar 26’ truck that originally picked up our home, and had driven through the night, going 17 hours without resting once. They had unloaded, and reloaded our home at the warehouse, and then unloaded at our new home. Things were very shaken up, some scratched, and broken. The young boys who delivered it kept apologizing, and seemed to feel bad, but didn’t have a clue how I was supposed to get help for it. Never ever use Sega Transport or TR Moving Systems as they both lied to me and left me with a huge distress for over a week. It was the most traumatizing event in my life and the most abused and mistreated I have ever been.

Long-distance move from Connecticut to Michigan

Black Hole Move.

If you want a move of competent, efficient, customer oriented, communicative professionals, STEER CLEAR OF SEGA TRANSPORTATION! Thanks to SEGA TRANSPORTATION what was delivered is damaged and what was not delivered - approximately 41 items, including mattress, box springs, dresser, tables, bed, chairs - has - apparently - disappeared into a BLACK HOLE! SEGA TRANSPORTATION contracted with us for a one truck/one household/door-to-door move from the regions of Hartford CT to Detroit MI, a drive that takes 1 day, 2 at the most. DID NOT HAPPEN. Days after the anticipated delivery, a truck (not the original SEGA TRANSPORTATION van) showed up at 7pm. The driver looked over the premises, and then informed us that an extra fee would be added because the rear of the truck was 100+ feet from the residence entry door. We demanded a measurement - 80 feet; no fee. From there things went downhill rapidly. The first two items off the truck were each wrapped in a blanket. Unwrapped: the Stickley dressing table was reduced to kindling wood and the 1740 black walnut side table broken and in many pieces. Shortly thereafter, furniture we did not own and had never seen before emerged. Despite our protestations, the driver and assistant insisted the furniture was ours as the pieces bore the same color and lot number as ours! TRUE, sad to say! Not only was another family's household goods combined with ours, more than 50% of our shipment was missing! What was delivered was either broken, dented, or so badly damaged as to be beyond repair! Example: the sturdily built Amish dining table top, one leaf gouged, the frame cracked, and the hinges bent and twisted and now unable to lift the drop leaves. Did I forget to mention the legs were removed and are MISSING! As are the legs to a coffee table! A second delivery about 10 days later brought in a few additional items, but at this date, about 45 days later, 41 items on the manifest are MISSING! Phone calls to SEGA TRANSPORTATION are unproductive: we are put "on hold" with no return; recognizing our telephone numbers, the calls are unanswered; using a different phone, the call is answered but everybody is in a meeting. Our experience in moving includes 40 years of military and private sector re-locations, and never have we been treated with such disdain, rudeness, deceitful behaviors. SEGA TRANSPORTATION is unprofessional, disrespectful, duplicitous, and a black mark on and a liability to the moving industry. Speaking of black holes, we cannot help but wonder WHERE our missing household goods have disappeared. And, some other family is probably left with the same dilemma! Despite being informed of another customer's property deposited with us, SEGA TRANSPORTATION has declined to retrieve the items! The $3,714 we paid to SEGA TRANSPORTATION included a hefty fee specific for the one truck/one household/door-to-door move, and it is obvious that the truck that pulled out of the driveway in CT was not the truck that made the initial delivery in MI. Photos tell the story. With conviction, SEGA TRANSPORTATION FAILS TO FULFILL ITS CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS AND DOES NOT DELIVER THE GOODS!

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Florida

Nj To Florida move.

You only make these moves once in a life time. First contact with Sega was polite, but when the movers showed up in NJ they told me that the my belongings would not fit in the space that was estimated, yes I (8x6) they packed up and I measured the space it was (8x12) So the price doubled. What could I do? Settlement was the next day. But when the truck arrived in Florida it was packed to the ceiling and I measured (8x9)..So beware, quote you one price, arrive and tell you the price doubled, then show up at the final destination and its packed in a smaller area. Now nobody will return my calls. I have a estimate that doubled, I don't mind paying for a service..but not with SEGA TRANSPORTATION. Bottom line the guy doing the estimate was wrong, my price doubled so I gave the movers 12 more boxes and it all fit in a 8x9x10 area..that's what I should of paid for not 8x12x10. I learned another lesson in life. If Sega reads this please contact me and settle up. My next move is BBB and small claims court.

Long-distance move from Delaware to Massachusetts

Avoid Sega transport at all costs!!

Sega transport is the worst moving company in the world!! My sales rep Mike who was pleasant at first under quoted my move just to get a sale. Then after I got the real bill he promised to fix it. However, he refused to answer the phone or return any of my calls. The guy in the office Khalid is pushy, yells and his behavior is completely out of line. Then my credit card was double charged!!The movers were nice but the company should be banned. The best thing about this experience is that it's now over. I hope consumers read this review before calling Sega transport because they really suck!! This was truly an awful experience!!
